The Kalahari is part of a huge basin that reaches from Angola west to Namibia through Botswana east to Zimbabwe. Unlike the moving dunes of the Namib Desert the dunes of the Kalahari are stabilized due to vegetation.

This Savanna landscape is home to Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Khutse Game Reserve, Gemsbok National Park and Makgadikgadi pan. The San bushman are the people of this land who offer great cultural experiences to tourists staying in the surrounding camps.
