Abu Camp has been named after Abu, the lead African Elephant and star of many movies. Day: 1 – 3
Upon your arrival into Maun Airport you will be met by a representative from The Booking Company who will welcome you and assist you with your connection onto the light aircraft for your flight to Abu Camp situated in the Okavango Delta.
After lunch you will have a couple of hours to relax before tea and then you will be introduced to the Elephants. You will proceed on a short ride and return to the camp in time for sundowners. Dinner will follow and then drinks around the fire to reflect on your first meeting with these fascinating and mighty mammals.
An Elephant not only is able to cope in water and sand with equal ease, but can also get quite close to other game, which is generally unaware of the human presence. The next 2 days will be start with an early morning Elephant ride. Sometimes you will return to Abu Camp for lunch or otherwise enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the islands. You will either return to camp on the elephants or take a 4×4 game drive in the afternoon. Mokoros will be available depending on water levels. Bush dinners are a special treat during your stay and night drives are also available at Abu Camp.
Day: 4
After an early morning elephant activity and breakfast, you will connect with light aircraft back to Maun in time for your onward connection.

There is a maximum of 10 guests per Elephant Back Safari.
During your Elephant Back Safari, you will be seated in large padded saddles which are mounted behind the most experienced and knowledgeable Elephant handlers in Africa.
The camp is named after Randall Moore’s legendary Elephant, Abu, the star of such motion pictures as “White Hunter Black Heart”, and “The Power of One.”
