Day: 1-3

Upon your arrival into Maun Airport you will be met by a representative from The Booking Company who will welcome you and who will assist you with your connection onto light aircraft for your flight to Xakanaxa Camp, where you will stay for 3 nights. Xakanaxa Camp is set in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve overlooking the Xakanaxa Lagoon and offers guests a year-round combination of land and water activities.

The game drives in this sector of Moremi take one down winding tracks, through mophane forests and across lush savannah. Birding in the area is excellent, especially in the spring and summer months. To the north are the world famous heronries of Gudigwa and Gobega, which attract large numbers of breeding storks and herons. All the Big 5 can be seen in the area. Powerboat sundowner trips and traditional mokoro excursions are also available.

Day: 4-6

After an early morning activity and breakfast, if time permits; you will connect with light aircraft for your flight to Xugana, where you will stay at Xugana Island Lodge for 3 nights. Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a wooded island abutting the Xugana lagoon, in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Mokoro trips in dugout canoes, combined with walking, to surrounding lagoons and islands in the concession give guests the chance to experience a classic Delta safari. Motor boat excursions through the reeded waterways are also enjoyed here. Xugana is a true “water land” paradise with no vehicles. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for bream and tiger fish is also offered as an activity at the lodge.

Day: 7-9

After an early morning activity and breakfast, if time permits; you will connect with light aircraft for your flight to the Kwando area, where you will stay at Lebala Camp for 3 nights.

Lebala in the Setswana language, means “open plains” which aptly describes the extensive grasslands and seasonal flood plains of the Linyanti marshes – fed by the Kwando River. At times the camp becomes an island when the floods arrive.

The game viewing at Lebala is amongst the best in Africa due both to the concentrations of game and the excellent visibility on the plains. Lebala focuses on the excellent game drives, both off road and at night. Bush walks are at guides discretion due to seasonal high elephant concentrations. There are no water activities offered due to the presence of large numbers of hippo and elephant in the channels. The grass on the plains is grazed short by abundant prey species resulting in concentrations of large predators.
