The Chitabe area has a superb variety of habitats, waterways and marshlands, dry acacia and mopane woodland, riverine areas, open grasslands and seasonally flooded plains. This is strictly a game viewing area – no water activities featured here.
Chitabe however offers day and night game drives in 4×4 vehicles which are accompanied by an experienced guide. You can also participate in nature walks.
Chitabe Camp boasts eight luxury East African style tents that are built on elevated wooden decks. Each tented room has en-suite facilities with indoor and outdoor showers.
Chitabe Camp is built on private island that is bordered by the Moremi Game Reserve. The Gomoti Channel is the eastern boundary and the Santantadibe River in the west.

Day: 2 & 3

The walking trail experience entails that you will walk at a moderate pace for a few hours per day. You will enjoy the wide variety of wildlife found in the Chitabe area which includes buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, reedbuck, lechwe, impala, zebra and hippo.
There are two separate hides located in different parts of the Chitabe Reserve. Both hides accommodate guests on elevated platforms with each person sleeping under a mosquito net. Each hide also provides chemical toilets and hot bucket showers. Home-cooked meals on the open campfire are enjoyed under the stars and sounds of Africa, which is a perfect way to end an adventurous day in the bush.
The two hides at Chitabe are located in contrasting habitats. One hide is situated on the edge of a floodplain that often contains water. This enables you to experience the sounds and smells of the Okavango.
The second hide is built in a woodland area which has an abundance of elephant activity. At night the nocturnal sounds – roaring lions and whooping calls of hyenas will remind you that you are sleeping in the African bush.

The Schedule of the two days are the following:-
-Walk ± 3 to 4 hours in the morning to a pre-prepared brunch site.
-Relax and siesta during the heat of the day – Walk ± 1.5 hours in the afternoon to the hide where you will enjoy sundowners
- A delicious dinner and overnight on the elevated hide platform before you set off again the next morning with similar walking times to the second hide.

Day: 4

After breakfast and a short activity, you will be transferred back to the Chitabe airstrip for your onward connection. (You could add another night at Chitabe Camp here)
